I have transferred the Guestmap across to the new site, although I would obviously still love you all to pop in now and again and tag the board, or leave a comment.

a withdrawal...BUT ITS NOT ALL BAD

It is with great regret that I announce that I have been forced to abandon my plans to travel to Africa next summer.
The Reasons are twofold...

1.  Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs refused me any tax breaks on the amount raised which, in tandem with my own wages, would lead to tax problems that weren't worth the effort.

2. Additionally, World Vision have changed their tune and now indicate that will be unable to organise work for me in Zambia, despite the earlier assurances that they would.

So I am moving on to bigger things.  I am currently assessing various worldwide events to see what is available and it looks like I will sign up for an event in support of a charity which is extremely close to me - Cancer Research UK.  I am currently deciding which event to take part in, but it will be atleast  12months away, allowing me to raise the £4000 target they require.

For anyone who has bought an item off me already, thanks for your support and if there are any of you out there who wish to discuss the change of charity then please drop me an email and we can talk things through.

All funds raised will be transferred across to the new campaign, although I will be looking into buying something from the World Vision catalogue and I will continue to support my child in Zambia.

A new site will be launched shortly to reflect the new campaign.

Thanks for your support, its appreciated greatly.

Robin

Its Getting Better All The Time, Just Spread Your Wings And You Will Fly

I think it's only fitting that I open this entry with some form of comment regarding stalking the McGann brothers.  Those of you who have read my recent entries (or indeed know anything about London theatre) will know that three of the aforementioned brothers have been appearing in the west end in Tom, Dick and Harry.

Yesterday I made my way round to the Duke of York's to complete my signed poster from last Saturday and bumped into two girls who could make the term 'stalking' seem obselete.  Ok so maybe I'm exaggerating and, especially as they will read this, I will back down.  But girls...staring at Mark McGann's ass down the length of an alleyway .  Seriously, a HUGE vote of thanks to Jo (the female variety) for taking numerous photos of me and celebs during the day.  A couple will appear on this entry while the rest will go into the soon to be created photo album section.

And so to the story of the day...

For the second week in succession I narrowly missed Richard Griffiths (having been held up on numerous buses for over an hour) this time by about ten minutes.  But success followed at Wyndham's with further signed items from John Hurt and Ken Stott (who was marginally less grumpy than last time out).  Next up was a failed attempt to obtain Bob Hoskins and Kristin Scott Thomas, but a late arrival meant I missed out.

Back round to Duke of York's saw signed leaflets and index cards from the cast, plus the bonus of a signed Bill promo card from Mark Wingett.  Photos galore as well.  As a bonus Richard Briers (The Good Life, Monarch of the Glen) was watching so added him to the collection.

Martin Freeman

Time for a break and it was off to dinner with Sara before making my way to the Soho theatre where the legend that is Martin Freeman is currently performing.  He cheerfully signed a play leaflet for me as well as the cover of the commerative movie edition book of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.  A race to the Criterion followed where Richard E Grant signed my Otherwise Engaged poster and Anthony Head signed a leaflet.  The night ended back at the Duke of York's in the hope that brother Paul (Dr Who) would watch the final performance, but to no avail.

I'll pop the rest of the photos on shortly, but overall a GREAT day!

Anthony Head

The '500' Club

Made it past the £500 mark this morning as a couple of new cheques came in and were banked for the previous round of sales.  Still awaiting a minimum of £25 from the last round so, coupled with the current sales (21/23 selling at a total of £69 and shrapnel) the total should be going up again in the next week or so.

Also had some tremendous results in the post this morning - signed pics from  John Travolta and a signed photo from the extremely hard to obtain skateboarding legend Tony Hawk (which came with a company embossed COA).

Both of these stars items will be up for sale shortly on eBay so don's miss out on a great chance.

A New eBay Sales Round

There's a whole new round of sales on eBay at the moment so pop on by and check out whats up for grabs.

I listed 13 items 3 days ago and they are now all selling, currently at a total of just shy of £60.  I've added another ten so far today and items up for sale now include signed pics from David Tennant, Simon Pegg, June Whitfield, and Geoffrey Bayldon.

I've also added new sections into the side menus to list all the items that I have up for sale, but might not have made eBay just yet.  Feel free to make offers for any of these items.  So far I've only included the index cards and theatre leaflets but the others will be added shortly.

So what are you waiting for...

9:01 PM

a good day at the office.

what a day...

I may have had to pull the plug on my day in the west end before meeting Gwyneth Paltrow due to tiredness and the fact that I have a full day working tomorrow, but even so, I got loads of success today.

First up came a visit to Wyndhams Theatre where Heroes has just opened.  Although I had missed Richard Griffiths by the time I got there, I did manage to get leaflets signed by Ken Stott (what a A$£h0!e) and Alien legend John Hurt.  Next up was the Criterion where Huw Higginson (The Bill), Belinda Lang (2.4 Children) and Joanna Page (Love Actually) all signed index cards for me.

A wee jaunt around the corner to the Duke of York's saw my Tom, Dick and Harry poster signed by Mark McGann, Joe McGann, Steve McGann, Mark Wingett, Brian Greene, Sarah Wateridge, Louise Jameson and David Warwick while Mark, Mark and Steve signed leaflets, and Louise and Joe signed index cards.

Moving round to Trafalgar Studios where James Nesbitt, Jim Norton and Packy Lee provided their signatures on some items - Norton (Leaflet and Magazine), Nesbitt (twice on magazine), Lee (magazine, index card and leaflet).

Final journey (thought I didn't know at the time) saw a check on Lynda Carter at the Adelphi which proved fruitless, although I nipped back round twenty minutes later and nabbed Sally Ann Triplett on an index card.

So no GP, but a good day all round, and I might just be alive to do a day's work tomorrow.  Photo's to follow shortly.

Keep checking by and don't forget to check the eBay pages out!

Finally - a hey and a thanks to Steve who kept me company for the day after I met him outside Wyndham's awaiting Ken Stott.  Cheers for taking my photos for me Steve, and hope to hear from you soon.

Up on the Downside...

Well, despite being a little disappointed that I couldn't attend the 'Elizabethtown' Premiere yesterday due to work commitments and missing out on the lovely Kirsten Dunst in the process, things are still looking up on the charity front.  I'm just about to update the charity total once I figure out who's paid what so far for the items which have been bought on the last auction days.

In the last few days there have been a few successes in the post

  • Dennis Loccoriere (lead singer of Dr Hook)
  • Ferne Cotton
  • Ian Cashmore signed dvd and pic.
  • Signed pics of Ridley Pearson

I'm also about to put another round of auctions up for grabs, now that I finally have a day off work, so make sure you drop into the eBay auctions link on the right hand menu and see if there's something that you would like for you, a friend, a present...the list goes on.

Over to you guys...

a boost to the totals...

It was a good day on the eBay front today with 28 auctions ending in the last 24hours.  It looks as if somewhere in the region of £200 has been made once fees are deducted and one of the highlights being the signed Derren Brown pic for £21.

More to follow and the total will be updated shortly as the funds come into my account.

Watch this space - or rather the eBay link on the right menu for more brilliant auctions coming soon!!
